To reach the island you must cross by boat from the port of Alexandroupoli. You may find the routes HERE
Alexandroupoli is 300 kilometres East of Thessaloniki (Northern Greece).
There are coaches/buses from Thessaloniki to Alexandroupoli; this journey takes approximately 4 hours. Please check the coach schedule HERE
From Thessaloniki' s airport (which is located just 15 km from the city s center), you can take the bus line 78 with 1.80euros, that will take you in the central bus station of Thessaloniki (ktel), from where you can take a bus to go to Alexandroupoli. This bus line serves 24 hours a day!
The Camping site is 15 kilometres East of the island's port, Kamariotisa.
Upon arrival:
There are local buses taking you up to Therma, the closest village to the camping. From Therma you may walk/hitch-hike or drive on for another 1.5 kilometres East to reach the camping site.
Alternatively, you may choose to rent a car at the port or just hitch-hike your way on, enjoying this welcomed custom of Samothraki!
